Watford to Croxley Green - Part 5

 

Of course we made it through the fence! There was one loose bit which we could move to one side, just enough to squeeze through. And so we were on the bridge that crossed the Grand Union Canal.

Another big spiky fence, about eight foot high. It's a good job the boys and I go rock climbing.

The final bit of track...

And into Croxley Green station. The platform used to be on the left hand side in this picture, but has been removed, (it was a simple thing made of scaffolding and planks)

 

The real end of the line!

This is the original station exit which, although padlocked, was easily climbable.

However, the boys think they've spotted an easier way of getting out...

Ah yes, a steep bank with a broken fence at the bottom!

Not convinced that any trains would turn up soon, we decided to call a taxi...
